Drawing

This is one of my final drawing pieces, to which I based my project on human anatomy, and I wanted to be able to show my creative and imaginative side, so I added in the idea of surrealism into my project, which lead me to the use of snakes in my piece. A1 drawing, using pencils, coloured pencils and ink pens with a acrylic wash for the background.

To create the piece above I did a lot of research and development work which included going to biology and drawing bones and models.
This is a rib cage drawing done in pencil, to allow me to test out drawing ideas and practice.

I also do drawings such as the ones below in life drawing, I practice putting in the skeleton into the body from memory, as it really helps with making the body 3D and creating the correct plains if you know the human anatomy.

Final Major Project (FMP)

My FMP is based on the theme of horses, this is close to my heart as I am a full time rider, so I try to tie both my love of horse to my passion for art in with my work.

This is a page out of my sketch book, showing my research into horses, I took many photos which I then develop and test out using drawings as show bellow.

I then develop pages such as the one above into mixed media test pieces and the one show below, in oil pastels, my own photographs and felt tips.

I also like to experiment with things such as the laser cutter and use it to print out my images onto plastic, here is a page showing the images I used and in the bottom corner shows a test which I did on the laser cutter.

This is a drawing I did of my horse, its a close up of his head, I have developed my project towards more close up pieces.
 A3 pencil drawing.

Human Scale Design

I wanted to show some of my design work, here I am showing my design development for a shoe design I am working on in human scale.
I am also working on a head project to make some sunglasses here is showing the kind of research I do into my project, I am looking at the anthropometrics of the head.

Sculpture

I also wanted to show some 3D work. This is a wax and wire sculpture, the brief for my unit was natural forms, I took inspiration from the sea, with coral and jelly fish.

Fashion and Fashion Photography

Here I am showing my fashion photography work, with one of the outfits I made for this years fashion show, with the theme of futuristic.  I took these photos at an abandoned railway, which I felt contrasted the theme of futuristic.

Painting

This is one of my final pieces I did in painting, it is for a brief of Urban Landscapes. I was inspired by buses and cars at night in London. I used a very slow shutter speed to take the image which I then painted. Its part of a series I am working on called 'City Lights.'

Mixed Media

This is a page out of mixed media book, I was researching MOLOKID, I am showing this piece to show how I used the research to the create my own outcome displayed on the left hand side of the page. I used print outs, magazine pages felt pens and photoshop to create this piece.

This is a research and response page in my book, I looked into the work by a street artist and combined it with my Lichtenstein research and came up with these new ideas.  On the right is my response to the original work. Its made from acrylic, image transfers and maker pen.

This is another page out of my book, showing experiments I did, inspired by Roy Lichtenstein. I used  acrylic paints, marker pens, card and plastic. My main aim was to test out different ideas and medium.

Life Drawing

This first piece contains 5 quick life drawing sketches in charcoal and white chalk, all of the poses were around 2 minutes. I was trying to show the movement in each position, contrasting to some of my other works, such as my longer life drawing pieces.

This drawing below was a 2 hour piece of work, I did it at the Advanced Life Drawing Course at the Ruskin during the summer holidays Its a pencil drawing and I was trying to capture the proportions accurately as I could.

Below is showing a 1 hour drawing done in pencil, I chose to include this piece due to the composition of it, as I like how its at an angle across the page.

This is a drawing I did while in the cast gallery at the Ashmolean, of the Laocoon Group. I did it as part of my drawing project based on human anatomy.
A2 pencil drawing, around 5 hours of work.
